An All-Day Company Meeting in a Unique Toronto Event Space

From breakfast to the band, in their colours

Blue J, the AI tax research company, brought 150 people to Storys for a full working day: sessions on the third floor, lunch and a cocktail reception on the second, and their logo on the windows, the bar, the cushions and the napkins.

A low stage set for the sessions: a Blue J backdrop lit in pink and blue, two cream armchairs and a clear lectern, with plants on either side, against white brick.

The day

Hosting an all-day meeting in downtown Toronto

Storys is at 11 Duncan Street, a short walk from the Financial District. Blue J’s AV and rentals went in the day before, so on the morning their team was in at 6:30, the sound check ran at 8 and breakfast was out at 9:15.

The sessions stayed on the third floor all day, on a low stage with two armchairs, a lectern and a screen on each side. Lunch and the reception were set a floor down, and the breaks came to the room.

If you are planning a working day, our meetings and conferences page has the rooms, the A/V and the catering.

The branding

Their logo, on everything

Jackie O Events designed the room around Blue J’s mark. It went on the arched windows, the front of the bar, the stage backdrop and the lounge cushions; the popcorn and the macarons came printed, and the bar poured a cocktail named for them.

The bar set for a break, its front wrapped in two large Blue J marks, with pastries, crudité jars, juice and water on top and Blue J graphics in the arched windows behind.

The menu

Every meal, by the clock

Every buffet, station and passed item was labelled: vegetarian and vegan, halal, gluten free and dairy free, contains nuts, and the major allergens.

There was no pork on the event. Lunch was halal, with gluten free and vegan dishes, and the arancini and tiramisu were made without liquor to keep them halal.
